Chairman of LIC

Shri D.K. Mehrotra, took over as the Chairman of the Corporation on 31st May 2012. Shri Dinesh Kumar Mehrotra joined Life Insurance Corporation of India as a Direct Recruit Officer in 1977. Starting at Jamshedpur Division, he has had an illustrious career spanning 35 years across three zones and the Corporate Office. He also had an International exposure in the field of Insurance during his posting in the foreign office of LIC at Suva, Fiji, from 1985 to 1989. He has been the Managing Director of LIC since 2005. He has held almost all important portfolios such as Investments, Personnel, Information technologies, Actuarial, Engineering, International Operations, Corporate Communications etc. Shri Mehrotra has already defined a bold, long term corporate plan, which envisions “An LIC Policy in Every Pocket” by 2020
